The firm
At Integrate Legacy Law, we guarantee impeccable communication while guiding our clients through a holistic process of defining and preserving the comprehensive mark they leave on the world, their legacy. We are a value-based firm and our top value is to leave our clients with a clearer sense of what legacy means to them and a plan for integrating their legacy into their lives before the luxury of time is no longer on their side.
Our sweet spot is working with Gen X'ers and Millennials who have substantial asset portfolios and work in the tech industry. Our other niche is addressing the unique issues that affect LGBTQ couples and their families. Niches and sweet spots aside, we work with anyone who is committed to planning smartly for the future of their finances and healthcare... all people welcome!
We are based in Jack London Square, Oakland, and we serve clients throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

R. Kamela Laird founded Integrate Legacy Law with the commitment to guide her clients to identify their life purpose and then integrate that legacy into their lives in a way that makes a lasting difference. As an experienced communication and relationship coach, mediator, and spiritual counselor, Kamela integrates these skills with her legal training to provide a holistic approach to estate planning. She has a special knack for supporting clients through conversations with family members regarding end of life, incapacity, and guardianship.
She is the former President of the Board of Directors at Community Boards, as well as a volunteer mediator there. She is an active member of Integrative Mediation Bay Area where she co-mediates with mental health professionals. As a pioneer of the collaborative estate planning field, she works on interdisciplinary teams with other Attorneys, licensed Mental Health and Eldercare Professionals, and Certified Financial Planners to deliver her clients a holistic and transformative experience.
Kamela was raised in Asheville, North Carolina and moved to California to attend Santa Clara University where she graduated as Valedictorian. During law school in Los Angeles, Kamela worked at a non-profit that provided free family law services to survivors of domestic violence, externed in the Major Crimes unit of the District Attorney’s office, and facilitated a transformational leadership class to incarcerated men, targeted at lowering recidivism rates.
